This weeks bark on the street from all the doxies out there is : "SUPPORT MY BUTT!!"
When stooping down to pick up your wienie or a wienie furry friend of yours, pick the doxie up with one hand holding the front end and the other hand/arm under the butt for support. Then, once up make sure most of the middle of the doxie is resting up against your body for more back support. Similar to cradling and infant. Our long ones are prone to back issues, and best not to let the back end hang while lifting the little long one up. Also, best to avoid too much lifting in general.

Very good reminder. Dangling puppy is not good.
THANK YOU for posting this. I just want to scream when I see folks pick up their dogs under their front legs like one would a baby.
Wonderful advice!! Especially good to support your favorite butt during election time, bol. Sorry, been seeing too many political ads lately...
And...I love blennox's shop!
CUTE magnets! I would do well with a Doxie. That is exactly how you pick up piggies!
Excellent post! You can't be too careful picking up those babies -- especially the loooooooong ones :)
My Gianna let out a sream one time when I picked her up too close to the front legs. The vet explained how the extension of thier muscles work, etc, etc. She loves to be picked up and held just like you say, sort of like a baby, only belly down, supporting her whole body. And she can be held like that forever, she loves it.
This is also very similar to the way you must hold a rabbit.
Love Blennox' magnets.
Great reminder. I have a bad habit of picking Emma up by her underarms. I'll make sure I pick her up with the full butt hold!
