Wiener Wednesday!

(This item is reserved for someone else, but I had to share it with you. Please, do not purchase this one. Convo the person to ask about ordering a set of your own.)

It is that lovely day once a week where five of the awesome pawsome dachshund items on Etsy make their appearance here on our blog. This week was oh so hard to pick only five. Sasha and I had much discussion during the deciding process, but we do believe we have some great doxie finds to share with you this week.

Sunday's Dachshund Prayer

Dear God: How come when company comes over the humans make the dog sit on the floor. Really, I can fit on one of their laps quite nicely and you know I sure can wash their faces, too.

Sasha And Maddie-The Chihuahua

Now, that thanksgiving is over and the left overs are mostly gone. I thought I would share some pics of Sasha and Maddie (The Chihuahua who thinks she is a cat.). Maddie stayed with us for Thanksgiving, and you can see she did not have much appreciation for Sasha sharing her kitty blanket. It just proves that you got to love family even if they don't care too much for you sometimes.

Yappy Thanksgiving!

"So where do the giblets go? I put the bird in the oven, and he is still freaking out....How do you know he is done? Does the feather suit come off with a zipper? Now how am I suppose to stuff the stuffing up the turkey's butt? How do you tell the light meat from the dark when the thing is frozen sold? I stick the meat thermometer where? How much oil and what kind do you need to deep fry this bird? What's the little bag of turkey guts for? Can you just give me a number of some place that is open to order pizza cause this turkey dinner is way too complicated!"

And this is why dachshunds have us cook the turkey why they ask all the questions on the turkey cooking hot line.

Sunday Dachshund Prayer

Dear God: Can you tell Mommy I'd rather be a wisedog in the Christmas play this year. I may have put on a few ounces, but I am pretty sure I am not as fat as Santa!

Monday's Message From Your Dachshund

The bark on the streets this week is all about the anticipation of the holiday baking season. The wiener dogs are eager to get speckled with flour and taste all the good drops to the floor. I believe I can hear them say: "The best place when Mom's cooking the holiday treats is right under the kitchen table. You know she always drops more there than anywhere else. But, you know she always sends me away with Daddy to play when she brings out the raisins and chocolates."

Monday's Message From Your Dachshund

The dachshunds are all being extra good this week trying to get on the nice list for Santa Paws this year. What could these long doggies pawsibly want. Lets listen in and see, " You knows I have my eye on a squirrel squeaky toy or pawhaps a new fashion accessory. You knows they make collars with dachshunds on them. Then, I just need some new bling tags to go with it. Oh, and treats! Don't forget treats!! And....."

Dachshund Rescue Transport Of Monty

On Oct 30, the day after that big snowstorm, I helped to transport Monty from Ohio to his new family in MA. Monty was left at a kill shelter (they don't know why since he is the sweetest boy!) and someone contacted the Dachshund Rescue of North America who picked him up and fostered him in Ohio. Another foster mom that lived in Ohio was going to visit her daughter in Poughkeepsie NY so she drove Monty over 8 hours to NY in the middle of the snow storm. They got caught when the roads closed down so had to stay in a hotel overnight. The next morning, we arranged to meet in Poughkeepsie -it's only an hour from my house but with the weather it took me 2 hours! (the driving was scary! Highways were shut down, trees everywhere, but I made it safely!) where I picked up Monty. I then drove him 2 hours to Hartford, CT where I met his new foster mom and dad and handed him over. He is the sweetest little boy! 3 years old, about 13 lbs and so loving. He kept wanting to climb on my lap.

Despite the horrible weather, I am so happy I got to help a doxie get to his new home. I hope to do more in the future!

Attached are pictures - the first one is with Pat, the woman that drove him from OH (they have 8 doxies! 6 of their own and 2 fosters). Pat rehabilitates injured doxies and many can now walk because of her!. The next pictures are of Monty in my car, then me and Monty and the last picture is his new mommy and daddy (the mommy is named Susan, but I forgot her husbands name!)
