This week all the little long ones are all excited about the warm sunny days that are starting to make their appearance more often.  They have plans for getting to new sniffing grounds and there is only one way to do it, too.  I can hear the dachshunds barking now.   "You know my humans have yet to break out the leash from the closet since before winter. ....  I hears you.   I say lets drag our humans around the block a few times and maybe they will get the hint that the spring walking season has begun! .... Long Last The Walkies! .... Walkies For All!"

Another fun filled weekend down and the dachshunds are missing their peeps while they are at work.  Some of the dachshunds plotted to reschedule a little more "doxie me" time in their peeps schedule.  I can hear them barking now, "I added a car ride, beach trip, and a walk onto my peeps to do list today.  .... Aw, that is nothing,  I  gots a hold of my human's smart phone and deleted something called a 'Mamogram Appointment' to make room for a doxie and me play date.  Then, I switched her work out time to 5 am instead of 5 pm cause that ways I get both my breakfast and dinner even earlier.  heehee."

This week all the dachshunds are talking about the fun they had on Easter Sunday visiting with friends and family.  However, the joys of their treasures in their Easter baskets were put on hold when the dogopoly game got started.  Then, all the little wieners started to fight over the dachshund game piece.  The little dachshunds could be heard "How dare a dogopoly game have only one dachshund game piece!  I always get stuck with the fire hydrant.  I don't want the bone in a bowl piece!" Their Mommies and Daddies quickly solved the problem by saying the magic word to stop any dachshund argument, "Squirrel!"

This week all the little doxies are planning how they are going to wait for the Easter Bunny.  They are planning what toys are going to be brought into the big bed and of course how to keep Mommy and Daddy from sniffing out all the Easter Eggs before them.  I can hear them bark right now, "I is taking my squeakest ball, my bestests almost destuffed toys, and of course a bone to chew on.  Then, every time the humans try to fall asleep, I will squeak my ball very fast to wake them up.  With all this lack of sleep, they will probably sleep to noon, and by then all the eggs will be mine!"

This week all the doxies have been barking about trying to figure out how not to be left behind when their humans go off to work.  The latest bark from a dachshund mad scientist is: "After once again being left behind while my peeps go off to work,  I have pawfected my shrinking potion so I can hide in the one item the humans will never leave behind. BOW-Wow-wooof! (creepy mad scientist barking for joy)

This week the dachshund's have been watching too many puplickable (political) ads. So much so that those ads are all they are barking about this week and what should be done with all the dirty laundry that gets shared on those ads.  I can hear them woofing now, "All you can do with something like that is cover it up with something pretty, let it air out a bit, or just come clean with it. Oh, and then they have to sling the mud back at the other candidate just so he gets dirty, too.  I says that if they gives them all the b-word (bath), it will start all over again."

This week the little frankfurters have been plotting to take away the title of the Easter Bunny and replace it with a more doxie appropriate figure.  I guess the plan is to exchange silly old eggs and chocolate Easter bunnies with chocolate doxies.  I can hear the dachshund PR council barking now: "But, hey isn't chocolate toxic for dachshunds? -- Yes, but we have a plan to give out felted chocolate doxies this year.  They are much cuter than the bunnies anyways."  So if any human pups (AKA kids) get a basket with chocolate doxies in them, then you will know the frankfurters have succeeded in their plans to take over the Easter Bunny.

This past week all the little southern wienies have been the queens and kings of their own hot dog crew Mardi Gras balls.  After getting use to the royal treatment of all you can eat snausages and king cake, all the woofs that could be heard from the little doxies today is about:  "Hey, how come my servants have cut out my beef jerky treats. I wants to know who ordered the new diet plan right now!"

This week the dachshunds have had a multi-national dachshund union meeting.  Doxie diplomats from far and wide gathered to bring up crucial issues and squirrel intelligence reports.  First on the agenda was to find a more dachshund appropriate media image of the Easter Bunny.  Because, we all know bunny's and squirrels are somewhat related.  I am pretty sure I heard the doxie diplomat from Washington saying, "I has a cousin Buster who has done some extra work on a few well know doxie commercials.  Pawhaps, he is available to do the bunny gig this Easter."

With the upcoming Valentine's day, our little wienies aren't quite sure they want to share their Mommy's or Daddy's lap with anyone even if it is their other parent.  This week they have been discussing ways of claiming the desired lap for themselves on Valentine's day. I can hear them barking now, "I could just pee on Mommy's lap and that would claim it as mine, but you knows the humans gets all upset when you do that.  Perhaps, we needs a blankie that will send them a message that this lap belongs to the wienie?"

It has been yet another week of cabin fever for our little dachshunds.  All that pent up energy and frustration on the nasty ground hog has to come out somewhere.  Apparently, the pillows in last night's get the invisible squirrel pillow fight did not survive. 

Therefor, the little wienies are having discussions with their human mommies as we speak:  "Well, you see we need pillows that are already invisible squirrel proof.  What Mommy you don't know what invisible squirrel proof pillows look like?  Well, the pillow makers have marked these special pillows so even silly humans would know which ones are invisible squirrel proofed.  Basically, they are the ones with dachshunds on the pillows!"

This week the doxies have been getting a bit of cabin fever.  The snow and cold has returned, and you can only hide under blankies for so long.  Thus, the bark on the streets is which doxie is throwing their own TP party today.  I can hear a few woofs say, "Yes, at 10 am, I will hijack the good roll of TP.  Ya knows the plush two ply stuff kept for when company comes, and you knows what is coming.   Party!!"  rip, shred, tare..........

All the little doxies are very down this week.  The cold weather has returned and their hopes of an early spring has been halted by mother nature's snow fury.  The little wieners have only been barking a few words from under the cover of their snuggle sacks.  Those words that can be repeated go something like this:  "I is hibernating until the real spring comes and can somedoxie please bribe that no good squirrel loving ground hog this year!"

The holiday preparations are sending our little long ones into a tail wagging overtime.  The indoor tree is up with the dachshund ornaments, the lighted Santa doxies are outside greeting all those who come visiting, and the doxies have been practicing their caroling howls with each door bell ring.  All that is left is according to the little long ones is to, "Hang the dachshunds' stockings by the chimney with care in hopes that Santa Paws will soon be there."
